The socio-economic impact timeline in Serbia for persistent organic pollutants (POPs)

Abstract: This study roughly quantifies the impact of POP chemicals on human health in Serbia. • POPs chemicals have negative impact to economic development. • Cost of diseases possibly caused by POPs in Serbia could reach €68 million in 5y time. • According to BCR ratio, every €1 of cost will return €2.77 of benefit in 5y time.
