Given that sexual minorities have been historically stigmatized within institutions of religion, they may be less likely to exhibit any health benefits from religious participation. In this article, we use data from Waves I and IV of the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health to test whether the effects of religious affiliation (becoming affiliated with a religious group) and disaffiliation (no longer affiliating with a religious group) on depressive symptoms are moderated by sexual minority status from adolescence to early adulthood. In regression models adjusted for selection effects, we observed that, compared to respondents who were consistently unaffiliated, becoming affiliated was associated with more depressive symptoms from baseline to follow-up among lesbian, gay, and bisexual respondents, but not among heterosexual respondents. We conclude with the implications of our results as they relate to understanding the health impacts of marginalized groups in social institutions and the importance of selection effects.

In the current era of globalization, technology is increasing and offers many unstoppable conveniences. This is the biggest challenge for humans, so all parties must be jointly responsible for controlling the use of technology to be in harmony with human values. This study examines the ethics of using technology to strengthen students' religious character. This study uses a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach, namely research that focuses on individual experiences of a phenomenon by collecting data through interviews, observation, and documentation. Ten people became research subjects, including five lecturers and five students. The resulting data were analyzed through data reduction, presentation, verification, and conclusion. The use of technology brings positive impacts and ethical challenges. Studies show that religious beliefs influence students' religious character, and character strengthening can be done through religious education and the wise use of technology. Integrating ethics and strengthening religious character will create a society that is responsible, cultured and has a solid ethical awareness in the digital era. The findings from this study can provide students with an in-depth understanding of the importance of the ethical use of technology.

This study summarises the profound insights from the bibliometric analysis of educational spirituality research. The study examines spiritual research from 2005 to 2023 to understand its complex dynamics and patterns. This research quantifies and reveals trends to illuminate the multifaceted growth of spirituality across disciplines and the collaborative efforts, influential authors, and publishing entities that have advanced it. This study uses bibliometric analysis to provide a nuanced view of the field's current state, its relationships with related concepts, and future directions. The study highlights the rise in spirituality research, especially in education, during COVID-19. This trajectory shows the field's evolution and relevance to modern challenges. Citations show the research's scholarly impact in distinct patterns of acknowledgment. Visualizing complex co-authorship networks with VOSviewer software reveals collaborative dynamics and diverse research directions. Spirituality research is interdisciplinary, as evidenced by its publication in various journals and publishers. This research engages 116 nations, demonstrating its global and interconnected nature. Citation analysis shows scholarly recognition across the study's findings. The collaborative nature of academic research is reflected in Web of Science data's panoramic view of research institutions' contributions. Additionally, citation analysis reveals seminal references that have shaped spirituality research discourse. The Web of Science framework's subject categories show spirituality research's adaptability and interdisciplinary nature. The study concludes with a deep understanding of the research landscape, defined by an intricate interplay of clusters that vividly depict spirituality research's reach across diverse human dimensions. These clusters demonstrate spirituality's impact on personal development, environmental awareness, emotional well-being, healthcare, and more, weaving a tapestry of spirituality research's importance across fields.
