The software complex of optimal power flow solution for united power system of Russia in a terms of competitive electricity market

Abstract: The paper presents a united power system optimal power flow technique with network constraints. A nonlinear programming algorithm is used -the interior point method (IPM). To model a network, a nonlinear model in polar coordinates is applied. Line group (cross section) flow constraints, current load constraints, voltage constraints are taken into account. Complex optimization elements are supplemented, including selecting transformer taps, reactive power supply voltage modules. The technique proposed is illust… Show more

“…In addition, reasonable DG appearing will postpone or reduce the investment of power grid expansion. On the other hand, due to DG investors and power supply companies are the different market entity, there are some conflict interest between them, such as, they may cause the grid to produce stranded costs, increase standby costs, and that unreasonable DG connecting to network operation may lead to the increase of energy loss, and even make power system's reliability, stability and power quality serious deterioration [10].…”

“…Ensuring SSS and TS by introducing restrictions on the amount of active power flows, on the one hand, is an effective measure, and on the other hand, leads to a significant impact on the functioning of the electricity market [1]. The economic distribution of active load power between EPS synchronous generators (SG) is based on the optimization problem [2], which affects the total cost of electricity generation and transmission. Considering additional restrictions on the flow of active capacities inevitably leads to an increase in the cost of electricity for the end consumer.…”
