Abstract:The occurrence of sepsis is common and after a decline due to antibiotic developments, its occurrence is increasing with the development of antibiotic resistance. Its diagnosis is characterized by the occurrence of fever and tachycardia with leukocytosis, with increased neutrophil precursors. Unchecked it results in a rapid progression to overwhelm the immune response. This discussion will consider the development of sepsis and special circumstances requiring rapid diagnosis and treatment.
