The stringency and potential impact of climate laws and policies in the European Union and the 21OECD countries

Abstract: In this paper, I offer a way to measure the stringency of climate change legislation for macro-comparative studies using publicly available data. The paper is innovative in that it examines the complex interrelationship between national, subnational, and supranational legislation using data from the FaoLex database on environmental laws and policies.
