Today risk management in Government, Federal and Local is emerging. Along with the increasing implementation of risk management concept and risk management have proven to protect many companies from the financial crisis in any decades. Asian Financial Crisis 1998-1999, Global Recession 2008, and Global Crisis 2018 deliver significant unfavorable effects to the companies, and some of the companies declared bankruptcy. Companies with effective risk management survive in any crisis since they have identified potential risks and mitigated them with the best effort. Learn from the same situation, Crisis also affected Government. Federal and Local Governments have initiated to implement risk management when managing government operations. The speed of risk implementation in government is not fast than in corporations. The research will examine and identify the implementation of risk management as an embedded process in the government or public sector. The research process will examine Asian Countries through a literature review. The sample of the Asian Population is 30% or 15 countries. The result of risk implementation in the Asian Government is varying. There are three models: formal risk management in government structure-53,33% or 8 (eight) countries has formal risk management, blended risk management – 20% or 3 countries, and ad-hoc implementation of risk management – 26,67% or 4 countries.

This study assessed the disaster risk preparedness in schools and mitigation strategies within school culture's quantitative and qualitative nature. Safety schools ensure high-quality management by implementing effective risk management strategies. To achieve quality education, schools must prioritise disaster risk mitigation strategies. In so doing, three objectives were employed, which include examining the influence of disaster-risk preparedness on school safety measures, assessing teachers' and students' emergency preparedness skills, and evaluating safety equipment availability in schools. The study utilised a mixed-methods approach, encompassing questionnaires, interviews, and physical observations. The research was conducted in the Dodoma region, focusing on five public secondary schools. A total of 152 participants were purposefully and randomly selected for the study. The quantitative data was analysed descriptively, while the qualitative data was thematically paraphrased and presented as quotes. The study further revealed that schools have insufficient safety equipment, leading to unpreparedness during emergencies. Additionally, it was found that teachers and students rarely receive emergency preparedness training, increasing crisis risk in schools. Furthermore, most schools lack essential safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, fire alarms, and fire exits, which puts them at potential disasters.

Reducing School Dropout Risk in a Mexican Private University

Objective. This work shows how the Define-Measure-Analysis-Improve-Control (DMAIC) cycle reduces the school dropout risk in a Mexican private University. Materials and method. The materials used to develop this research were data collected from an academic enterprise resource planning software called UNISOFT, property of the Mexican Private University as well as the statistical software Minitab to perform all the numerical analysis. The methodology used to reduce the school dropout risk in the freshman year of studies of engineering was Six Sigma. Results and discussion. Three six-sigma metrics were developed and measured to understand the process and reduce risk management. Each phase contributes to identify the root cause and to formulate possible solutions. Conclusions. The DMAIC methodology was implemented in a period of four semesters; it involved both management and academic personnel. The results show an improvement in the dropout indexes and a new approach is being considered by the Faculty to sustain the effort.
