This study was conducted to develop smart technology for early effective lifesaving in nursing facilities during fire outbreaks. A questionnaire was prepared for some expert groups, and the results confirmed that active information acquisition is necessary for initial lifesaving. In particular, initial information acquisition is vital. A 3D scanning and radio-frequency identification positioning system was used in this study. It was confirmed that the ultimate goal of technology development to improve field response capabilities is to minimize human damage, and the 3D scanning technology and location tag system technology applied in this study helped achieve the goal. In addition, 3D scanning and positioning system techniques are not limited to nursing facilities but may be extended and applied to targets with high fire risk, such as hospitals and children accommodation facilities with many prisoners.
