Background: Because of its high prevalence, subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) has clinical significance as it is associated with many of the risks of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (CVD) due to its direct and indirect effect on lipid profile, diastolic function, and endothelial dysfunction.
