“…The relatively strong emission maxima centered at 462 and 563 nm should be assigned to the typical 4 I 15/2 / 4 F 7/2 and 4 I 15/2 / 4 S 3/2 transitions, respectively. 27,28 In addition, a weak emission band with the maximum wavelength of at 681 nm also can be observed, corresponding to the characteristic emission of the 2 F 5/2 / 4 F 9/2 transition. 29,30 The above-mentioned transition has also been found in analogous erbium compounds, in which the coordination number of central ion is nine.…”

“…With the above considerations in mind, we have been exploring 'ligand blend' reactions involving the succinamate(À1) ligand, À OOC-CH 2 -CH 2 -CONH 2 (Hsucm À ), and various N,N 0 -or N,N 0 , N 00 -donors as a means to dinuclear and polymeric copper(II) species [3]; we also reported 1D lanthanide(III) coordination polymers featuring only Hsucm À ligands [4]. Here we report studies on the reactions of maleamic acid (HOOC-CH@CH-CONH 2 , H 2 L) with Cu(ClO 4 ) 2 AE 6H 2 O in the presence of chelating aromatic N,N 0 -or N,N 0 , N 00 -donors as co-ligands, resulting in interesting dinuclear complexes that contain the intact maleamate ion ( À OOC-CH@CH-CONH 2 , HL À ) or the monomethyl maleate(À1) ligand derived from the metal ion-assisted transformation of the former.…”
