Abstract:Background: Osteoporosis is classified as primary when it is age-related or occurs in postmenopausal women and secondary when caused due to other etiologies. Previous studies have shown that the prevalence of osteoporosis in patients with cirrhosis ranges from 12 to 70 based on the diagnostic approach and etiology of the underlying liver disease.
