Following the recent special issue in the journal of Frontiers in Psychology, named “The Role of Teacher Interpersonal Variables in Students’ Academic Engagement, Success, and Motivation,” this review is carried out to describe two prime instances of teacher interpersonal behaviors, namely teacher confirmation and stroke, their underlying frameworks, and contributions to desirable student-related outcomes. In light of rhetorical-relational goal theory and the school of positive psychology, it is stipulated that language teacher confirmation and stroke are facilitators of EFL/ESL students’ level of motivation and academic engagement. Providing empirical evidence, the argument regarding the pivotal role of language teacher confirmation and stroke in EFL/ESL contexts was proved. Reviewing the available literature on the aforementioned variables, some pedagogical implications were suggested for teacher trainers, educational supervisors, and pre- and in-service language teachers. Finally, the limitations and drawbacks of the reviewed studies were identified and some avenues for further research were recommended, accordingly.

While colleges and universities grapple with delivering instruction face-to-face during the pandemic, there is still a lot to learn from remote teaching experiences. The present study aimed to predict self-reported learning during the first year of the pandemic. Building on previous scholarship on the topic, we focus on the moderating effects of self-efficacy, and the mediating effects of coping styles on the relationship between stress and self-reported learning experiences. We also included self-perceptions of class effort, the instructor, and changes in class, personal, professor, and health behaviors. Students ( N = 272) in Introductory Psychology classes participated in an online survey as part of a class research requirement. Analyses demonstrated that self-efficacy predicted differences in many measures associated with learning and predicted learning over and above all other variables entered in a hierarchical regression. The relationship between stress and learning was mediated by coping, but not moderated by self-efficacy. These results suggest student beliefs about their ability to perform online are important to learning outcomes, but coping mechanisms mediate the relationship of stress and learning. Especially while teaching during pandemic times using different modalities, instructors will do well to directly address students’ perceptions of their own ability and build self-efficacy.

In the process of innovation and entrepreneurship, college students have different degrees of psychological problems due to the influence of market environment and their level of professional knowledge. In order to accurately evaluate the psychological quality of college students' innovation and entrepreneurship, an evaluation method of college students' psychological quality of innovation and entrepreneurship based on big data analysis is proposed. The historical information data and real-time data flow of college students’ psychological quality of innovation and entrepreneurship in the data source are collected, and the association rule feature extraction method in big data analysis technology is used to fuse the collected data, and complete the preprocessing, then the preprocessed data are stored in the database. According to the construction criteria of the indicator system, the sick indicator cycle analysis method in big data analysis technology is used to build the evaluation indicator system of college students' psychological quality of innovation and entrepreneurship, and the evaluation model of college students' psychological quality of innovation and entrepreneurship is built by combining the self-organization feature mapping neural network. The experimental results show that the information contribution rate of the evaluation indicator system of this method is higher than 95%, and the accuracy rate of the evaluation result is higher than 98%, which can effectively and accurately evaluate the psychological quality of college students' innovation and entrepreneurship.
