“…We do have a substantial number of articles in JGHE dealing explicitly or implicitly with teaching ethics and values, although many are about environmental concerns, and some about social relations, which have relevance for my review. A number are primarily philosophical (Eyles, 1977;Hall, 1983;Huckle, 1977, 1978, Smith, 1995 and prompt re ection on whether our identi ed or assumed goals are to promote particular values, such as environmentalism, anti-or non-sexism, anti-or non-racism, anti-homophobia, etc. Should we advocate particular positions on at least some issues?…”
