“…Systematic literature review (SLR) methodology is the most suitable for highlighting the state-of-the-art progression of the domain to offer the future research agenda (Dohale et al , 2020; Easterby-Smith et al , 2001; Sahu and Rao, 2021; Thomé et al , 2016; Tranfield et al , 2003). As the aim is to understand the trend of MS publications focusing on the congruence aspect to provide future research opportunities, this study adopted the SLR methodology.…”

“…It assists in an organized synthesis of the literature and thereby enables various knowledge and insights related to the field (Roy et al, 2018). SLR is an essential building block to constitute reliable scientific knowledge for the advancement of a discipline and provides higher quality for the review process, minimizes bias and errors, and obtains more validity to the process (Di Vaio et al, 2020a;Sahu and Rao, 2020). Therefore, we preferred to conduct a systematic procedure to achieve the objectives of this study.…”

“…In Fan and Stevenson's (2018) study, the agency theory took second place and the system theory took third place. In another study, Sahu and Rao (2020) ranked the top theories used in supply chain management research in India as follows: resource-based view, institutional theory, and stakeholder theory. These differences may be attributed to two reasons: (1) The articles examined in the mentioned studies and applied database are different and (2) the time intervals reviewed in the studies are not the same (for example Fan and Stevenson (2018) reviewed articles published in 2000-2016, whereas we reviewed articles published in 1998-2020).…”

“…Empirical studies on SCM adoption and barrier factors related to the adoption decision are scanty and not found in the literature (Sahu and Rao, 2021). However, a few studies have touched upon SC barriers tangentially in their studies.…”
