Abstract:The obligate intracellular parasite Toxoplasma gondii causes life-threatening toxoplasmosis to immunocompromised individuals. The pathogenesis of Toxoplasma relies on its swift dissemination to the central nervous system through a ‘Trojan Horse’ mechanism using infected leukocytes as carriers.
