The trailing-edge problem for mixed-convection flow past a horizontal plate

Abstract: The flow near the trailing edge of a horizontal plate in a uniform parallel stream under a small angle of attack in the limit of large Reynolds number and large Grashof number is considered. Applying the concept of interacting boundary layers, a triple-deck problem taking the hydrostatic pressure perturbation into account can be formulated. However, it turns out that the interaction pressure is discontinuous at the trailing edge and thus new sublayers to resolve the discontinuity are introduced.
