The transporting efficiency and mechanical behavior analysis of scraper conveyor

Abstract: Scraper conveyor is the main equipment for underground coal transportation, and its high-efficiency and smooth operation is of great significance to safety production. This study simulated the process of transporting bulk coal by the scraper conveyor using the discrete element method. Transporting efficiency of scraper conveyor affected by the chain speed, static frictional coefficient, particle size, and laying angle was studied. Then the relationship between the chain speed, static frictional coefficient and… Show more

“…In order to improve the cutting performance of the cutting head, specific energy consumption Hω, cutting resistance fluctuation coefficient ρ, total cutting resistance Fmag, cutting head consumption power Pg, and σAσD should be as low as possible. According to the structural characteristics of this road header type and the actual work requirements of the enterprise, with full consideration of the influence of various factors on the overall performance, 30 the corresponding weights are set as 0.35, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1, 0.15, 0.05, and 0.05, respectively. Thus, the objective function can be described as where Hωmax is the maximum specific energy consumption in the theory domain (kW·h·m −3 ); Fgmax is the maximum cutting resistance in the theory domain (N); σA, σB, σC, and σD…”

“…They were used to define the geometric model of the spiral aggregate device and the slime water particles, respectively. The main differences between the two material parameters are in shear modulus and density, where the shear modulus of steel is 7.9×10 9 Pa, the density is 7850 kg/m 3 , and the slime water is set to 1.98×10 9 Pa and 1100 kg/m 3 . In addition, both materials have a Poisson's ratio of 0.3 and a work function of 0.…”

“…With the development of numerical simulation technology, the discrete element method (DEM) has been widely used in the simulation of fluid and solid materials [6][7][8]. Many scholars have also completed the design and performance analysis of complex mechanical structures, such as scraper conveyor [9], belt conveyor [10], feeder [11], and coal mining machine [12], by means of DEM.…”
