Abstract:A 25 factorial design was used to evaluate the effect of methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol and pentanol on the paper chromatographic separation of Arginine, Threonine, Leucine, Histidine, and Tryptophan. The most significant effects occur for the alcohols themselves with an increasing effect with an increase in carbon chain length. The major interaction terms involve the combinations of butanol and pentanol with the other alcohols or with themselves.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
