Abstract:Mechanically ventilated patients suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) frequently receive aerosolized iloprost. Because of prostacyclin’s short half-life, prolonged inhalative administration might improve its clinical efficacy. But, this is technically challenging.
