The Use of Blocking Wires in Fibular Intramedullary Nailing of an Ankle Fracture with Hardware Failure: A Case Report

Abstract: A 24-year-old male, with a body mass index (BMI) of 31.7 and a previous open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) of the left ankle seven years ago, presented to the emergency department with a periimplant, comminuted fibula fracture with broken hardware and syndesmotic injury.
