The use of Prophylactic Antibiotics in Trauma

Abstract: Infection is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in trauma. In this literature review, the microbiological profiles and the use of prophylactic antibiotics in various traumatic situations are discussed. This review includes abdominal and chest trauma, craniocerebral trauma, long bone fractures, open globe injuries and animal bite injuries.
