The use of the linear form of dynamical equations of the satellite attitude control system for its analysis and synthesis

Abstract: At present, the methods based on using linearized dynamical equations are applied for synthesis of an attitude control system of a satellite with nonlinear dynamics. Linearized equations describe the satellite dynamics approximately, which is the main their disadvantage. This article shows that basing on the angular momentum theorem, the nonlinear dynamical equations of the satellite attitude control system can be represented in the form of linear differential equations with variable coefficients, which makes … Show more

“…Proof. Necessity: If the nonlinear system in Equation ( 7) is asymptotically stable, then due to the equivalence of this system and the system in Equation (18), where the latter is also asymptotically stable for every matrix B(t). This is uniquely determined by a solution for the system in Equation ( 7) which satisfies Cauchy's theorem regarding the existence and uniqueness of its solution.…”

“…All that remains is to satisfy the condition of asymptotic stability of a linear system with constant parameters (Equation ( 20)). The last condition is fulfilled since the matrix of the linear system (Equation ( 20)) is the ultimate matrix of the system in Equation (18); that is, we have…”
