The Value of Information in the “E-age”

Abstract: Abstract:The benefits are argued of applying consistent conceptual frameworks in the expanding world of electronic messaging and communication. The recurrent question is addressed how to value 'products' and 'services', including the elementary economics of 'data', 'information' and 'knowledge'. It is found that the so-called 'semiotic ladder' provides a very suggestive reference for measuring a variety of value aspects.
