The Variation of the Uncentered Maximal Operator with respect to Cubes
Julian Weigt
Abstract:We consider the maximal operator with respect to uncentered cubes on a Euclidean space of arbitrary dimension. We prove that for any function with bounded variation, the variation of its maximal function is bounded by the variation of the function times a dimensional constant. We also prove the corresponding result for maximal operators with respect to more general sets of cubes.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
