The variety and transition of key intermediate liquid products during the process of coal‐to‐biohydrogen fermentation

Abstract: Summary Organic liquid intermediates were generated during the coal‐to‐biohydrogen fermentation process. The study on the generation of these organic liquid intermediates can provide information on the biogenic gas formation mechanism. In this paper, high volatile bituminous coal from Yima colliery was collected as an effective carbon source. The indigenous microflora extracted from a coal mine water was used as the bacterial source to set up simulation experiment to get biogenic gas. Then, gas chromatography … Show more

“…Besides measuring and mathematical modeling methane yields of different generations, we have specifically focused on (1) investigating the dynamic changes of microorganisms and identifying the key microorganisms in the microbial community during acclimation, (2) studying the stability of the AD system and changes of the key intermediates during methane production, and (3) evaluating the genetic function differences before and after acclimation. This study is also an extension, discussing all our work in the past several years. …”

“…The extraction process of liquid hydrocarbons (alkanes and amines) after gas generation was performed according to previous studies. , The extracted substances were measured using a gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer (GC–MS, Agilent, 7890-5975) fitted with a VF-WAXms chromatographic column (30 m × 250 μm × 0.25 μm). One microliter of the extracted sample solution was injected automatically.…”
