“…This may reflect a number of possibilities. Findings in the 6–9-month range intervention follow ups (Bennett et al, 2011; Doran et al, 2018) had consistently better outcomes than those that were longer (12 months) or shorter (6 weeks, 12 weeks), which may indicate that there is a certain minimum length of time for an intervention to yield positive results, but after an initial improvement conditions or attitudes may revert to previous levels. This was further endorsed in the Doran et al RCT, for which measurements were taken at baseline, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months, but significant results were not seen until 9 months, with food choice reverting at 12 months.…”

“…Length of intervention ranged from six weeks (Edries et al, 2013) to 12 months (Schopp et al, 2017). Types of intervention included a web-based program lifestyle habit management and health promotion (Bennett et al, 2011; Cook et al, 2007, 2015), exercise programs (Choi et al, 2017; Edries et al, 2013; Kao et al, 2017), and educational workshops (Doran et al, 2018; Michishita et al, 2017; Schopp et al, 2017; Sforzo et al, 2012). Six (Choi et al, 2017; Cook et al, 2007, 2015; Doran et al, 2018; Edries et al, 2013; Schopp et al, 2017) of the studies sought to intervene on non-communicable chronic disease risk, with two (Bennett et al, 2011; Doran et al, 2018) specifically targeting cardiovascular disease or “heart health.” The other four studies were designed to improve quality of life (Kao et al, 2017; Michishita et al, 2017), stress (Cook et al, 2007), and the psychosocial environment (Sforzo et al, 2012).…”

“…It is thus imperative to provide appropriate treatments for these workers by investigating their perceived CVD risks, risk-reduction behaviors, and knowledge of CVD. However, little is currently known about either risk perception or risk-reduction behaviors among blue-collar employees ( Doran et al, 2018 ; Hwang and Kim, 2019 ). There is also a lack of evidence related to the environmental, psychosocial, organizational, and individual factors that influence risk perceptions and risk-reduction behaviors in this context.…”
