The World Fauna of the Genus Micrambe Thomson, 1863 (Coleoptera, Cryptophagidae)

Abstract

The species of the genus Micrambe Thomson, 1863 (Coleoptera, Cryptophagidae) are revised. Hundred and one species are recognized. Key and figures of the studied species are provided. Following a detai- led study of the type material in different entomological collections, the status of taxa is revised and 3 new synonyms are proposed: Mi- crambe (Micrambinus) schuelkei Esser, 2017a, Micrambe (Micrambinus) yunnanensis Esser, 2017 and Micrambe (Micrambinus) zhejiangensis Esser, 2017 are nov. syn. of Micrambe (Micrambinus) bimaculata (Pan- zer, 1798). Micrambe duclouxi Grouvelle, 1910 and Micrambe duclouxi (Grouvelle, 1916) are new as synonymy of Micrambe (Micrambe) sinensis Grouvelle, 1910; Micrambe aubrooki Donisthorpe, 1939 is new synon- ymy with Micrambe hirta Grouvelle, 1908. Micrambe (Micrambe) sinensis Grouvelle, 1910 is resurrected from synonymy with Micrambe (Micram- binus) bimaculata (Panzer, 1798). Micrambe (Micrambe) micramboides (Reitter, 1874) previously known only from Japan is reported here for the first time from Taiwan.
