Abstract: Acute intoxication with organophosphorus (OP) cholinesterase inhibitors can produce seizures that rapidly progress to life-threatening status epilepticus. Significant research effort has been invested investigating the involvement of muscarinic acetylcholine receptors (mAChRs) in OP-induced seizure activity.
