Theophylline blunts the GH-response to growth hormone releasing hormone in normal subjects

Abstract: Theophylline enhances GH-secretion in vitro, whereas in vivo a slight decrease of basal GH\x=req-\ levels has been observed. In the present study the effect of theophylline on the GH-responsiveness to acute and continuous administration of growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) was investigated.
