Abstract:The article discusses the theoretical foundations of forming universal human values orientation in individuals acquiring general secondary education. Scientific developments dedicated to this issue are analyzed. It is noted that the prerequisites for the formation of value orientations are laid down in preschool age, but the actual formation occurs during adolescence, when interest in issues of morality, ethics, worldview grows, and students' interests shift from the concrete to the general.
