Theoretical investigation of the parametric X-ray features

Abstract: Resume. 2014 Dans cet article on présente les calculs numériques de la distribution spectrale et angulaire des rayons X paramétriques pour différents cristaux. On analyse leurs variations en fonction de l'énergie des particules. Abstract 2014 The numerical calculation of the parametric X-ray spectral and angular distributions for different crystals is performed. Their dependence on the particle energy is discussed.

“…Since first predicted in the early 1970's [1-3], a number of classical and quantum electrodynamical treatments of PXR have been developed, based on a kinematic point of view [4], and on the dynamical theory of x-ray diffraction [5][6][7][8]. PXR is highly directed, quasimonochromatic, tunable, polarized, and spectrally intense [6][7][8][9][10].…”

“…The theoretical description of the intensity distribution of PXR [51,52,45,53,54], suitably modified for self-absorption and multiple-scattering effects, has been tested for a broad range of electron energies extending from 3.5 MeV [55,56] to about 1 GeV [46]. It was found to be accurate within 12%.…”

“…When a fast charged particle crosses a single crystal, its Coulomb field is scattered by a system of parallel atomic planes in the crystal to generate para metric X-ray radiation (PXR) [14][15][16] whose photons together with the DTR photons move in the Bragg scattering direction. At present, there are two approaches to describe the PXR process: kinematic [17,18] and dynamic [15,16,19]. It should be noted that the diffracted transition radiation by itself is a dynamic effect, namely the dynamic diffraction effect.…”
