Theoretical studies of the reactions of CF3CHCLOCHF2/CF3CHFOCHF2 with OH radical and Cl atom and their product radicals with OH

Abstract: The mechanisms and dynamics studies of the OH radical and Cl atom with CF(3)CHClOCHF(2) and CF(3)CHFOCHF(2) have been carried out theoretically. The geometries and frequencies of all the stationary points are optimized at the B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) level, and the energy profiles are further refined by interpolated single-point energies (ISPE) method at the G3(MP2) level of theory. For each reaction, two H-abstraction channels are found and four products (CF(3)CHFOCF(2), CF(3)CFOCHF(2), and CF(3)CHClOCF(2), CF(3)CCl… Show more

“…During these years, many theoretical91011121314151617 and experimental181920212223 investigations about the reactions of some volatile organic compounds (VOCs) with free radicals have been carried out in kinetic properties, reaction mechanisms, temperature dependence and more. Previous studies have generally evaluated the fates of HFEs at 298 ± 2 K only.…”

“…Alternatively, desflurane, fluorinated methyl ethyl ether, differs from isoflurane only by substitution of fluorine for the chlorine found on the alphaethyl component of isoflurane. This change in structure could make desflurane less aggressive than isoflurane in interacting with other molecules, 46 including voltagedependent anion channel, adenine nucleotide translocase, and cyclophilin D, the components of mPTP. [16][17][18] Therefore, desflurane may cause a lesser degree of mPTP opening as compared to isoflurane.…”

“…Introduction Hydrofluoroethers (HFEs), without the potential of depleting ozone because of the absence of chlorine, iodine and bromine atoms in their molecules, are currently used as the third-generation substitutes for CFCs in foam blowing and aerosol propellant applications [1][2][3][4]. It is worth noting that HFEs may cause global warming because both the C-F and C-O bonds absorb the infrared radiation from the earth, although they have lower global warming potentials (GWPs) compared to the CFCs [5][6][7][8][9]. Therefore, it is important to know the loss mechanism and the environmental impact of HFEs.…”
