Theorizing seafarers’ participation and learning in an evolving maritime workplace: an activity theory perspective

Abstract: This paper presents the cultural-historical activity theory (CHAT) or simply activity theory (AT) as a suitable framework to theorize seafarers’ learning in a technologically evolving shipboard environment.
