Abstract: In systems with broken spatial inversion symmetry, such as surfaces, interfaces, or bulk systems lacking an inversion center, the application of a charge current can generate finite spin and orbital densities associated with a nonequilibrium magnetization, which is known as spin and orbital Edelstein effect (SEE and OEE), respectively.
