Theory of Technical Systems - Educational Tool for Engineering

Abstract: Hubka's theory of technical systems (TTS) is briefly outlined. It describes commonalities in all engineering devices, whatever their physical principles of action. This theory is based on a general transformation system (TrfS), which can be used to show engineering in the contexts of society, economics and historic developments. The life cycle of technical systems consists of seven major TrfS, each consisting of further product-specific TrfS. From this TTS, Hubka derived a methodology as voluntary guide to sys… Show more

“…The principles of design, manufacture, and modelling of mechanical systems [17][18][19] were analysed to comply with the permissible noise limits (MIL-STD-1474E) 20 . During the establishment of the work methodology, the main component from which the design should start is the human being [21][22][23] . During the study of the Carl L. patent 24 , adaptations and designs of exclusive tooling were identified and would be required to facilitate the machining process 25 .…”

“…In the recent years, a qualitatively new direction of the mechanical engineering science has been formed, which consists in the development of scientific foundations for planning technological processes of machining parts with the most effective operational properties [1][2][3]. Creation and implementation of scientific and applied principles of the functional-oriented technologies planning for the integrated increase of operational quality of machine-building products is the topical engineering task.…”

“…As a result, this representation not only applies to describing existing technical systems, but also provides a foundation for developing theories in the field of design science [9][10][11]. From this point of view this theory needs to be presented for future engineers for the effective application of in practice its basics concepts [12,13].…”
