Normal waste processing a t the Hanford operations requires the use of many organic materials, chiefly in the form of complexing agents and diluents. These organic materials and t h e i r chemical and radiolytic degradation products, have potential f o r complexing f i s s i o n products and transuranium elements, both in the waste streams and upon i n f i l t r a t i o n into s o i l , perhaps influencing future sorption or migration of the nuclides.--Particular complexation characteristics of various nuclides which cons t i t u t e the major fission products, long-lived isotopes, and the most mobile 1 in radioactive wastes a r e discussed briefly with regards t o t h e i r anticipated sorption or mobility in s o i l s .
