“…The structural design of external wall internal and external insulation system is shown in Figure 1. DeST (Designers Simulation Tookit) carries out building model simulation with phased simulation as the core, provides auxiliary reference for actual building design, and has significant advantages in the coupling of building energy consumption simulation and building air conditioning system design [15,16]. DeST simulation software combines the simulated building with the environmental control system by using the natural room temperature, which can accurately describe the thermal characteristics of the building, accurately analyze the natural room temperature of each room in the building and analyze the building energy consumption in combination with the research of air conditioning system [17,18].…”

“…They found that the energy consumption of reinforced concrete in brick buildings was the largest, and the external insulation system with similar heat transfer coefficient but different insulation materials mainly affected the energy consumption of the material production stage. Shen et al (2020) studied the hydrothermal properties of external insulation systems and found that freeze-thaw and temperature drop occurred mainly in the insulation layer. Werder et al (2015) studied the algal resistance of insulation systems, evaluated it by fluorescence and numerical analysis, and found that mineral extraction systems had higher algal resistance than organic systems.…”

“…The most common way how to reduce the energy demands for heating of older buildings is application of the External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS). This solution enables to effectively insulate the whole envelope of the building and reduce thermal bridges that would negatively affect the overall building’s hygrothermal performance [ 5 , 6 , 7 ]. However, in the case of older and historical buildings, application of ETICS is often forbidden especially due to the requirements of culture heritage authorities that insist on the preservation of the original and decorative appearance of the architectural style of facades and their elements, such as balusters, on brackets balconies, ornamental brackets, pillars and pilasters, gables, etc.…”
