Thermal and Optical Properties of Silver-Polyimide Nanocomposite Based on Diphenyl Sulfone Moieties in the Main Chain

Abstract: A new polyimide-silver nanocomposite containing diphenyl sulfone moiety in the main chain was synthesized using a convenient ultraviolet irradiation technique.AgNO 3 was used as a source of the silver nanoparticles. Polyimide 3, as a polymer source , was synthesized by the polycondensation reaction of 4,4'-diamino diphenyl sulfone 1 with pyromellitic anhydride 2 in the presence of iso-quinoline as base and m-cresol as solvent. The resulting composite film 3a was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy, Uv-vis analy… Show more

“…Cu nanoparticles has a sharpest peak at 2θ = 43.72° corresponding to (111) reflection, according to the JCPDS card # 04–0836, which can be observed in the XRD pattern of Cu/CC-CH. Similarly, in the XRD pattern of Ag/CC-CH, we can observe the peaks at 2θ = 38 and 43.8°, corresponding to the (111) and (200) reflection planes and were in good agreement with previous reports 36 , 37 . Moreover, according to JCDPS, card no 15–0806, Co nanoparticles has a diffraction peak at 43.8° corresponding to (111) crystal plane, which was observed here in Co/CC-CH indicating the preparation of cubic crystalline cobalt.…”

“…3bb’-e’ . Figure 3bb’ exhibits the pattern of the nanocomposite templated with Ag-NPs, which shows the peaks at 2θ = 38.60, 44.51, 64.63 and 77.72° which corresponds to the (111), (200), (220) and (311) planes of Ag and were in good agreement with our previous and other reported data 73 , 74 . In this pattern the peak for TiO 2 cannot be clearly observed due to the high intensity of the Ag-NPs which are embedded on the surface.…”
