Thermal Aspects of Kumada Rearrangement in Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Polysilanes-Interdependence of Molecular Structure, Thermal Degradation, and Stability
Abstract:Thermal degradation behavior, exothermic patterns, and kinetic parameters of symmetrical/asymmetrically substituted polysilanes during the Kumada thermal rearrangement in the temperature range of 100-450 °C, were investigated applying thermogravimetric (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) techniques. Three kinds of polysilanes, viz., Polydimethylsilane (PDMS), Polydiphenylsilane (PDPS) and Polymethylphenylsilane (PMPS) were synthesized through Wurtz/Wurtz-Fittig polycondensation. As-synthesized p… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
