“…4, which almost agrees with those of Alloy 1 and Alloy 2 considering the present experimental error. The temperature dependences of thermal conductivities for Alloy 1 and Alloy 2 from 300 to 1073 K, together with those in literature for U-15 wt.%Pu-10 wt.%Zr alloy [3], U-20 wt.%Pu-10 wt.%Zr alloy [4], U-25 wt.%Pu-10 wt.%Zr alloy [5] and U-20 wt.% Pu-5 wt.% Np-5 wt.% Am-5 wt.%Cm-10 wt.%Zr alloy [5] are shown in Fig. 5.…”

“…The literature value of U-Pu-Zr alloy was estimated from the electrical conductivity using the Wiedemann-Franz law [3]. In addition, those of U-Pu-Zr and U-Pu-MA-Zr alloys were estimated using Bruggeman model with the thermal conductivities of U-Zr alloy, Pu metal, Am metal and Cm metal, in which the thermal conductivity of Cm was substituted by that of Gd metal [5]. It is speculated that the present experimental results based on direct measurements provide more reliable data than the previous literature values estimated based on many assumptions.…”

“…As an additional note, an error was found in Touloukian [44] The UMo Handbook [43] developed an equation for the thermal conductivity of U-Mo fuel using a modified mixture rule that takes into account the alloying effect, shown in equation 2.19. This method is based off with a modified mixture rule developed for UZr alloys [45] and is assumed to be applicable to U-Mo alloys due to the similarities of Zr and Mo.…”
