Structure D 2000Thermal "Order-Disorder" Behavior in (Na1-xKx)4B8O14 Solid Solutions Investigated by X-Ray Powder Diffraction. -(Na 0.25 K 0.75 ) 4 B 8 O 14 and (Na 0.45 K 0.55 ) 4 B 8 O 14 are synthesized from mixtures of H3BO3, Na2CO3, and K2CO3 (600°C, 240 h). The compounds crystallize in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 4. At room temperature the alkali atoms exhibit an ordered distribution over the four cation sites. In (Na0.25K0.75)4B8O14 the sodium and potassium atoms are less ordered at 300 and 500°C. -(GEORGIEVSKAYA, M.; ALBERT, B.; BUBNOVA, R.; CORDIER, G.; BAEHTZ, C.; FILATOV*, S.; Cryst.
