Thermal Properties of Metal Derivatives of 6-Aminopicolinic Acid

Abstract: The thermal decomposition of Mn(II), Cr(III), and Pb(II) salts of 6-aminopicolinic acid (APH) has been studied up to 1200 C in air and in helium atmosphere. Decomposition processes are proposed, and the resulting mass losses are compared with those obtained from experimental data. The analysis of solid decomposition products was carried out using X-ray diffractometric methods. The compounds decompose thermally to metal oxides.
