Abstract:On the basis of an analysis of the properties of AIV elements and of their alloys with tellurium, an interpretation is given of the observed regularity involving a rise of the thermal stability of chalcogenide glasses Te0.~,-A0.~5 with a decrease in the atomic number of the AIv element. It is postulated that the thermal stability of these glasses is determined by the entropy of melting of the AIV elemcnt referred t o one atom.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
