Thermionic emission of positive ions from alkali tantalates

Abstract

Thin layers of alkali tantalates can be produced on tantalum heater ribbons by a very simple and rapid electrochemical process. Such ribbons then act as efficient, directly heated, dispenser-type sources of positive alkali metal ions.The preparation of the active layers is described and their ion emission characteristics are investigated.
