Thermionic system evaluation test (TSET) facility construction: A United States and Russian effort

Abstract

The Thermionic System Evaluation Test (TSET) is a ground test of an unfiieled Russian TOPAZ-II in-core thermionic space reactor powered by electric heaters. The facility that will be used for testing of the TOPAZ-II systems is located at the New Mexico Engineering Research Instimte (NMERI) complex in Albuquerque, NM.
