Thermodynamic and physiochemical properties and the excess functions of binary mixtures of Dimethylsulfoxide with Pyridine and Nitromethane at variable temperatures - 298 to 318K.

Abstract: The density (ρ), viscosity (η), relative permittivity (ε), and ultrasonic velocity (u) in the binary mixture of Dimethylsulfoxide with Pyridine and Nitromethane have been measured at all composition and temperatures 298 K, 308 K, and 318 K. From the experimentally measured values, the excess molar volumes (VE) and the deviation in the viscosities (Δη), relative permittivity (Δε), and ultrasonic velocity (δu) have been correlated. The negative and the positive deviations in the excess functions have been discus… Show more

“…Moreover the mixing of liquids introduces some extra degree of freedom and results in a new phenomenon that is not present in pure liquids, such as complex formation, association, dissociation etc. 20 Partial molar volume and viscosity data provide valuable evidence about different types of forces of attractions present in the solutions. The volumetric and viscometric studies of solutions help us illustrate solutes organization and properties in mixed solvents.…”
