The antiparallel self-association is mainly due to the overlapped dimers formed by carbonyl−carbonyl contacts, 33 which leads to the reduction of the effective dipole moment of the ketone molecules. A report along similar lines for the compound with the ring composed of five carbons has been previously reported in the literature, 34 where it has been concluded that pure cycloalkanone molecules with an odd number of carbon atoms, in particular, cyclopentanone molecules, exhibit a strong ability toward antiparallel dipole orientation.…”
