Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to establish a two-dimensional model of Green–Lindsay theory for micropolar magneto-thermoelastic medium to study the photothermal effect. The model is used to study the coupling between elastic waves and plasma waves generated due to thermal changes in a micropolar elastic medium.
