Thermodynamics of AdS/QCD

Abstract: We study finite temperature properties of four dimensional QCD-like gauge theories in the gauge theory/gravity duality picture. The gravity dual contains two deformed 5d AdS metrics, with and without a black hole, and a dilaton. We study the thermodynamics of the 4d boundary theory and constrain the two metrics so that they correspond to a high and a low temperature phase separated by a first order phase transition. The equation of state has the standard form for the pressure of a strongly coupled fluid modifi… Show more

“…We have analyzed the dependence on ρ of thermodynamic quantities such as the entropy, energy and free energy density and of the jet quenching parameter and drag coefficient for a probe parton moving in the dual plasma. While in the "SQCD dual" q; a difference of [18] w.r.t. our 10d case is that we have total screening while, in the former paper, the screening only happens above a certain energy.…”

“…The opposite is true for G e αα , as is obvious from the relative factor of i. The correlators of components, pointing along the isospin potential in flavor space (a = 3), are found to be 20) with the diffusion constant D 0 = 1/(2πT ) . Note that these latter correlators have the same structure but differ by a factor 4/N c from those found in the Abelian super-Maxwell case [2] (see also (C1) and (C2)).…”

“…This transition was shown to be of first order in [16] (see [14] for a similar transition in the D4/D6 system), and studied in further detail in [17,18]. Related phase transitions appear in [19,20,21]. Mesons in gravity duals of finite temperature field theories have been studied in [22,23,24,25].…”
