Thermodynamics of the Formation of Diisopropyl Ether

Abstract: The results of thermodynamic calculations have showed that the condensation reaction of isopropyl alcohol with propylene, even at room temperature, is accompanied by complete transformation into the target product, di-isopropyl ether. At temperatures above 400 K, an almost equal degree of conversion of isopropyl alcohol to acetone and propylene, as well as the same temperature dependence of the equilibrium yield of reaction products, has been noted.
