Thermoelastic behaviour of polyethylene terephthalate on approaching the glass transition range

Abstract: Abstract:The mechanicai and thermal properties of the simple linear reversible extension of a solid can be well described by means of Young's modulus and linear thermal expansion coefficient. In this paper it is shown that on stretching near the glass transition temperature the temperature dependence of Young's modulus must also be taken into account.
